Dydakt GmbH ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your personal data when you use the Dydakt platform and AI teaching assistants.

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the limited data necessary to provide our services:

  • Account Data: Name, email address, password, and school affiliation (optional).
  • Professional Context: Information about your teaching subjects and grade levels to tailor AI responses.
  • User Content: Text, prompts, and documents you upload to generate lesson materials.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and usage logs (e.g., which features you use most).

Important: We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly for the following purposes:

  1. To Provide the Service: Generating slides, quizzes, and worksheets based on your inputs.
  2. To Improve Dydakt: Analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs and improve user experience.
  3. Communication: Sending you service-related emails (e.g., password resets, Beta updates).
  4. Security: Detecting and preventing abuse of the platform.

3. AI & Data Privacy (Your Content)

Dydakt utilizes third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate content. We hold ourselves to high standards regarding your intellectual property:

  • No Training on Your Data: We utilize commercial API agreements with our AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google). These agreements strictly prohibit the use of your submitted data to train their general foundation models.
  • Confidentiality: Your lesson plans and prompts are not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to share them (e.g., in a collaborative school workspace).

4. Data Sharing & Sub-processors

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers ("Sub-processors") solely for technical operations:

  • Cloud Hosting: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure (Server location: Switzerland/EU)
  • AI Processing: Providers of LLM APIs (Data processing may occur in the US with appropriate safeguards).
  • Development: Third-party contractors under strict confidentiality agreements (NDA).

We ensure all transfers of personal data to countries without adequate data protection laws (like the USA) are covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your account and data.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, electronic format.
